Data Discovery Center

Get direct access to data generated by NEST research

As the data repository and digital library for NEST, the Data Discovery Center (DDC) provides public access to a broad suite of data sets generated by NEST research. Data access is free and available to anyone.

New England Dams Database

The New England Dams Database is a single database containing all available dam locations in New England and their associated attributes. The database compiles data from the state agencies that oversee environmental management in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, along with select data from The Nature Conservancy’s Northeast Aquatic Connectivity Tool (NCAT). NEST researchers use the database as part of their assessments of dam trade-offs, but it is also available to the public. The database is continuously updated as new information becomes available.

The New England Dams Database Data Portal complements the database by providing background information, data descriptions, methodology, and other information useful in understanding and interpreting attributes in the database.
